SOUPER BOWL OF CARING
Monetary donations will be collected after each service on Sunday, February 5. All donations received will be given to Sharing God’s Love. Please remember to drop some money in the soup pot to help feed those who are less fortunate.


SACRIFICIAL MEAL
The Union UMW will be having their Sacrificial Meal, Monday, February 6th, at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The speaker will be Rev. Megan Gray from Epworth Children’s Home. Communion will be celebrated. All women of the church are invited to attend.


A PEP EXTENDED TRAVEL COMMITTEE will meet on Monday, February 6, at 2pm in LL14. Barbara Parker is in charge of planning a 5-7day travel adventure for the fall. Come and share your ideas or call Barbara at 772-4788 with your input.


SPIRITUAL LIFE RETREAT FOR OLDER ADULTS - FEBRUARY 7-9 - SPRINGMAID BEACH
This retreat is for older adults (55+) who desire to explore and enhance their relationship with Christ. There is a Conference Registration Fee of $40 per person (non-refundable). Contact Rev. Dick Holliday at 781-3013 to register.

SMALL GROUPS FOR ADULTS!

SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER - FEBRUARY 21 - 5:30 - 7:30 pm - FMC GYM
Tickets to the Pancake Supper sponsored by New Life Class go on sale TODAY. They will be available before and after Sunday School outside the Fellowship Hall, and in front of the Wesley Center after the 8:30 worship service and before and after the 10:45 worship services. Advance price: $5/person with $20 Family Max; At the Door: $6/person with $24 Family Max. Union Brass will provide musical entertainment and everyone is invited to participate in our Silent Auction by bidding on some fabulous baskets. All proceeds will benefit Lake Murray Salkehatchie. Please join us for lots of food, good fellowship and some really great music! 


THE ADULT AND FAMILY MINISTRY TEAM
is sponsoring a Family Heart 2 Heart Dinner and Dance at 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 12 in the Family Ministry Center. This will be a kid friendly event and dress will be casual. Dinner will be potluck. The variety of music will include everything from oldies to new. We hope that everyone can attend as this will be a great time of fellowship and fun!


UNITED METHODIST MEN SPIRITUAL RETREAT WEEKEND
will  be held February 17-19 at the Springmaid Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach. Anyone interested, please contact John Crodian at 917-5056.


THE 29th ANNUAL REHOBOTH FISH FRY
will be held on Monday, February 27, from 6:00-8:30 PM at Rehoboth UMC. Meet at the buses by 5:00. Please park your cars in the parking area by the bus cages. RSVP to Jim Sharp at 749-6009 by February 20.


WEDNESDAY NIGHT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Wednesday Nights were such a success we are going to offer them again. They will begin April 11 and run thru May 30. All that is needed are volunteers to help put on the program. Come and teach your interest and maybe you can form a small group centered on that particular topic and interest. Please contact the church office to volunteer or fill out the tear- off located in the bulletin and place it in the offering plate.

MOM’S MORNING OUT
Union Nursery is offering Mom’s Morning Out to mothers of children ages 10 weeks - 3 years old. Children can be dropped off at the church nursery at 9:00 am and picked up at noon on FEBRUARY 1, 15 & 29. The cost is $15.00 per child. Please make reservations by Noon the day before.  A minimum of 4 students is needed in order to offer the program.  Please email Debbie Wright at dewright@sc.rr.com to make reservations. If you have questions, call 414-7778.


UNION PRESCHOOL
Registration for in-house families (those currently enrolled and their siblings) and Union church members will be January 30-February 3 and open registration will begin February 6, 2012. For information and/or a registration form, please call the preschool office at 781-0630.

Are in alphabetical order and located in the narthex of the Sanctuary and in the hallway adjacent to the Chapel at the top of the ramp. Please check both locations for your envelopes. Annual Fund:
Pays for missions, ministry, outreach & operations of the church.

Capital Fund:
Pays for debt retirement & capital improvements of the church.

Undesignated Fund:
Allows the Finance Team to use the money received where it is needed most.

SOUTH CAROLINA UMW 2012 SPIRITUAL GROWTH RETREAT
All women of the church are invited to attend the South Carolina UMW 2012 Spiritual Growth Retreat at Lake Junaluska during one of two identical sessions. Session I will be May 4–5 and Session II will be May 5–6. “Make Room for God” will be the theme of the Retreat, and local Midlands area Christian speaker and Bible teacher, Jean Padget, will be the Retreat speaker. UMW Circle members can get more information from their Circle Chairs, and any woman interested in attending can contact Gail Elfert at 732-2302 or celfert@aol.com for more information. Reservations must be made by March 4, 2012.
